EVENT MATTING

Protecting your venue

Protecting your venue
Solutions

The Challenge Outdoor events put thousands of people and heavy production vehicles onto turf venues that can quickly become unusable — creating safety risks and leaving venues damaged long after the event.

The Solution JWA event matting protects venue surfaces while providing safe access for crowds and equipment across all outdoor event types.

What Makes Event Matting Demanding

Ground Stability

Large crowds and vehicle movements quickly overwhelm soft turf, creating muddy, impassable conditions.

  • Crowd Safety Risk
  • Vehicle Bogging

Environmental Protection

Event footfall strips grass and compacts topsoil, leaving venues unusable well after the event.

  • Turf Destruction
  • Post-event Recovery

Operational Efficiency

Matting must install and remove within tight bump-in/bump-out windows without disrupting programming.

  • Setup Deadlines
  • Bump-out Speed

Expert Insights

Bump-In Sequencing

Effective event mat deployment starts with vehicle access routes and working platforms before laying pedestrian areas. This allows production vehicles to operate on mats from the first day of bump-in without damaging the areas being laid for crowd use.

Drainage Consideration

On low-lying or compacted venue surfaces, trapped water beneath mat panels can remain after rain events. Slightly crowning mat areas and ensuring the mat edge overlaps existing drainage channels helps water escape and prevents aquaplaning risk for pedestrians.
