Tank Trials
Defence | Undisclosed
Overview
Dura-Base mats were subjected to rigorous tank trials to test their suitability for military use. The mats provided a robust surface capable of withstanding the immense weight and abrasive tracks of heavy military vehicles.
Extreme Heavy Loading
The primary challenge was to find a temporary surfacing solution that could withstand the extreme weight and point loading of military tanks. Tracked vehicles are notoriously damaging to unprepared ground and standard temporary roadways.
The surface needed to maintain its integrity under these harsh conditions to ensure safe and effective trials.
Robust Military Application
Dura-Base composite mats were selected for the trials due to their proven strength and interlocking design. The mats formed a continuous, heavy-duty surface that distributed the load of the tanks effectively.
The trials demonstrated that Dura-Base could successfully support heavy tracked vehicles without failure, providing a reliable solution for military applications.
Results
The tank trials were a success, proving the durability and effectiveness of Dura-Base mats for defense purposes. The system provided a stable platform that withstood the rigours of heavy military vehicle movements, confirming its suitability for future deployment in similar scenarios.
