Springvale Oilfield
Oil and Gas | Springvale, QLD
Overview
Our client drilled to find coal and gather the gas that is pumped out for commercial export. This coal seam gas project required reliable ground support systems for drilling operations on soft ground.
Coal Seam Gas Exploration
The project involved drilling to find coal and gather the gas pumped out for commercial export. Operating in Springvale, QLD, the project faced challenges with soft ground conditions and the need to access multiple remote well pad locations.
Traditional access methods would have required significant road construction and material costs, potentially delaying the drilling schedule and impacting the surrounding grazing land.
Safe Access for Drilling Operations
Dura-Base Composite Mats were deployed to provide safe access and stable drill pads. The mats were rotated across 15 well pads, ensuring a consistent and reliable surface for the heavy drilling rigs.
This solution eliminated the need for permanent road construction and significantly reduced material costs. The mats allowed for rapid mobilisation and demobilisation, keeping the project on track.
Results
The use of Dura-Base mats resulted in a reduction of material costs by $280,000. Well pads were ready in just 2 days each, with no weather-related delays. The consolidated logistics reduced truck movements and the project footprint, preserving the land productivity.
