Moonie Oilfield

The Moonie Oilfields are a significant oil producing region in Queensland. The developmental program required access to multiple well sites to maintain and expand operations.

However, the project faced challenges with rain-affected ground conditions. Safe and stable platforms were essential to support the drilling rigs and heavy machinery required for the developmental program, and to ensure the safety of personnel on site.

To address the soft ground issues, the Dura-Base Composite Matting System was mobilised to the oilfield. The interlocking mats provided a continuous, stable surface that could withstand the weight of the oilfield equipment.

The system was used and reused over multiple well sites throughout the three-month program. The mats were easily transported and reassembled at each new location, providing a consistent and reliable platform regardless of the underlying ground conditions.

The mobilisation of Dura-Base mats successfully supported the developmental program. Operations were able to continue despite the rain-affected conditions, ensuring the program remained on schedule. The reusability of the mats across multiple sites provided a cost-effective and efficient solution for the temporary access and platform requirements.
