TRACKOUT CONTROL

Keep the dirt where it belongs

Keep the dirt where it belongs
Solutions

The Challenge Mud and debris carried onto public roads from construction sites creates safety hazards and can trigger council compliance orders that shut down operations.

The Solution FODS trackout control matting effectively removes mud and debris from vehicle tyres at site exits, keeping roads clean and projects compliant.

Key Challenges

What Makes Trackout Control Demanding

Ground Stability

Mud and debris carried from site onto public roads creates hazardous, uncontrolled driving conditions.

  • Road Contamination
  • Traction Loss

Environmental Protection

Trackout spreads site sediment into stormwater systems and waterways, breaching environmental controls.

  • Sediment Runoff
  • Drainage Contamination

Operational Efficiency

Council fines and road clean-up orders halt site operations and damage contractor reputations.

  • Compliance Shutdowns
  • Contractor Penalties
Engineered Solutions

Performance Over
Unstable Ground

Deploy rapid access systems that protect the environment while supporting heavy loads.

Load Distribution

Engineered composite mats distribute weight effectively, preventing bogging and ground damage.

Rapid Deployment

Quick installation and removal means minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

All-Weather Access

Our systems provide reliable access in any weather conditions, keeping projects on schedule.

Reusable Systems

Durable construction allows for multiple deployments, reducing overall project costs.

Expert Insights

Gate Positioning

For maximum effectiveness, FODS trackout mats should be positioned so all wheels of the longest vehicle on site fully traverse the mat before reaching the public road. JWA recommends a minimum mat run of 6 metres for standard site vehicles.

Supplementary Measures

On high-clay-content sites or during extended wet periods, trackout mats work best in combination with a wheel wash station. JWA can advise on integrated entry/exit configurations that satisfy the most demanding council compliance requirements.

FODS Melbourne Trials

FODS Trackout Control Mats, an innovative approach to sediment control on construction site entrances, are in high demand in its US home ground. But how do they perform in Australian conditions and workplace standards? We put them to the test on two of Victoria's major road and rail infrastructure projects.
